Gabriel Gonzalez argues that agentic coding breaks developer flow and often performs no better than traditional coding. He proposes 'calm technology' alternatives: inline hints, semantic project navigation, automated commit refactoring, and contextual editing features like 'Focus on...' and 'Edit as...' to translate between language representations.

和'Edit as...'

Federico Pereiro argues LLM agents are the next abstraction layer in programming, like C to assembly or Java to C. The hypothesis: developers using multiple autonomous agents can build 10x more. During WWII, over 1 million vehicles in Europe ran on wood gas due to fuel shortages. Wood is heated to 1,400°C to produce combustible gas, which then powers a conventional engine. The downsides: 35-50% less power, 10-minute warm-up time, and hundreds of kilograms of extra equipment. Modern interest is driven by renewable fuel potential and carbon neutrality, though scaling risks deforestation.

It looks cool, but to have to navigate from one side of the screen to the opposite one is quite suboptimal.

Nav menus feel like a baseline we shouldn't muck with. Tabbing doesn't seem to respond very well in the live example, and you can't expand the listing without using a mouse.
