Researchers used EEG to study how the brain handles attention switching between two speakers. They found that when you switch attention, your brain starts tracking the new speaker BEFORE fully disengaging from the old one - a brief period of genuine parallel processing. They also used LLMs to model how lexical context is rebuilt after a switch, finding the brain essentially does a hard reset on context rather than trying to blend the two streams.

I use an Apple Silicon Mac and often use programmable keyboards like the Royal Kludge RK61 via USB-C. When I press keys in quick succession, the keyboard stops responding until I unplug and reconnect. I'd love to debug this.

It cost $1,695 and required Concurrent DOS. The product failed because it couldn't run Lotus 1-2-3, the killer app of the era.
