9 year old me got my first 'hacking' experience out of this game. With the shareware version, you could not select the ultra tank for a human, but you COULD if it were the computer player. The 'hack': start a game with a normal tank VS ultra computer player, save the game as a file, open the game file, read the ASCII text and just flip which player had which tank.

I bought an 8gb M1 Air in 2020 as an experiment in how-cheap-is-too-cheap / chuckable travel laptop. I ended up using it as my main laptop for 2 years without regret, then handed it to my son for school. It remains in perfect condition and as delightful to use as the day I bought it.

Neat. Surprisingly, there are 388 solutions, and a lot of them look rather unintuitive. My original intuition was to place the queens on unique rows and columns to cover as much as possible but it turns out there are solutions with three queens on the same row.

The trick for me was to place a queen (most anywhere, but start with a corner it's easier), then check and look for the spot with the most reds around it, place the next queen there, repeat. Then place the bishop as needed. The key was realizing the proximal spaces next to the placed queen are the most important to cover.
