Isabelle/HOL as a language is nice, but the tooling has deep flaws even outside the pure desktop-first app approach. It seems both languages mostly just made different tradeoffs, which were fair and have shaped them into quite efficient tools for their domain.

I've been following this for personal interest. Decibel Therapeutics was working on this before they were acquired by Regeneron. The next ones in the pipeline are a fix for the GJB2 gene mutation that causes hearing loss. Unlike OTOF, this one is progressive so you have to get to it fast.
