It's probably just me being out of touch, but I don't think the GeForce RTX 4000 or 5000 series really mattered that much. At the same time I'd add the S3 ViRGE and the Matrox G200. Both mattered a lot at the time, but not long term.

A lot of GPUs in this list are basically just previous GPU but faster or more RAM. I kind of thought it was going to focus on interesting new architecture innovations.

MIDI Guide, an open CC-BY-SA 4.0 dataset of MIDI CC/NRPN implementations, hit 300 synths after 7 years. Started in 2019 as background research for Condukt (an iPad synth controller app), got backburnered, then accidentally became a community project with 56 contributors. Now used by hardware projects like Neuzeit Drop and Reliq. The app finally launched in March 2026.

This looks like a really great project. I naively thought that with 300ish synths covered they'd have everything I own but I can see that's not the case. I've got Alesis, Casio and Yamaha equipment that's missing. Time to dig out the manuals and get a PR ready.
