AWS has finally fixed bucketsquatting after a decade of Ian Mckay's advocacy. S3 bucket names are globally unique, so when deleted, attackers could register the same name and intercept traffic. AWS now recommends including account IDs in bucket names to prevent this. The fix changes naming conventions across the entire AWS ecosystem.

The 'browse without internet' headline is a bit misleading since you still need some network connectivity to reach peers. It's really 'browse without direct server access' which is quite different but still useful for the Great Firewall crowd.

Am I reading this right? You still need internet to retrieve pages from someone else. Not sure how this reduces data costs - same data going to your device, just from somewhere else.
