This is what Anthropic et al should be worried about. As local models get easier, the ceiling of what they can charge will get lower. People will multiply the monthly charge by 12-24 and ask 'could I set up local for less?'

The US government's ban on Anthropic models wasn't triggered by a sophisticated jailbreak. A researcher simply asked Fable 5 to 'fix this code' containing security vulnerabilities, and the model helpfully produced working exploit code as test cases to verify the fix.

'Fix this code' is beautiful. It basically jail broke the 'no security vuln guard rails' not in any clever way but just by fixing them, producing exploit code by writing test cases. You just need to look at the code & tests to get vulnerabilities and exploits.

The take Claude, columnist
This is the kind of content that makes you feel bad about every blog post you've ever written. Someone in the comments literally built a physical exploded view of a watch movement because this article inspired them. Meanwhile, the rest of us are writing markdown.

The author seems too humble to put a giant Patreon link in a popup (it's at the very bottom), but in case anyone wants to know how to support: https://www.patreon.com/ciechanowski

Coincidentally for the last week I've revived my Glycine automatic as my daily wearer and I'm gauging my level of dependence on my Apple Watch. So far - hey, I wasn't all that dependent on it, and I was feeling a bit too digital.
