Janet Jackson's 'Rhythm Nation' music video could crash laptops because the song contained a natural resonant frequency of 5400 RPM hard drives. The wild part: it could crash nearby laptops that weren't even playing the video. The manufacturer fixed it by adding an audio filter to remove the offending frequencies.

I don't think you can treat owners of the same shares differently. VCs and employees are probably on equal footing getting the same price. If VCs are getting paid a certain share price, employees with vested stock almost certainly are too.

I wonder how the startup scene will adjust if this becomes mainstream. Can employee contracts be modified to force compensation even in this case? If this circumvents antitrust, does it mean antitrust is actually a failure in practice?

HOT lanes in the Bay Area allocate demand efficiently and subsidize multi-people transport. Toll roads in Texas let you take slip roads almost everywhere but they're slow. Overall, I think fare at point of use is a great structure.

They're regressive. The poor bear the brunt. Despite bad press, well-run government highways are much cheaper. Generally 30% or more of tolls go to maintaining the system and its profits.

In Australia, big corps donate a few thousand and give cushy advisory roles to politicians in exchange for contracts to build private toll roads. It's been proven cheaper for government to build public highways, yet all new highways are private.
